Dr. Robin Armstrong has dedicated his life to being a servant leader. A native of Texas City, Texas, Robin graduated from La Marque High School in 1987, where he played football on a state championship runner-up team and competed in track and field. He went on to attend Texas A&M University, earning a degree in microbiology, before completing medical school and residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
It was in medical school that Robin met his future wife, Martha — the two were gross anatomy partners, began dating, and were married on December 13, 1997. They have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of four sons: Daniel, Gabriel, Joshua, and Noah.
A man of deep faith, Robin believes that all men and women have an eternal flaw, are loved by God, and are saved by grace. This conviction drives his desire to serve. He has participated in two missionary journeys to Africa, a medical mission to Nicaragua, and has been actively involved in his local church for many years.
Robin practices medicine in his hometown as owner of Armstrong Medical Group, which includes hospital and nursing home physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. His largest hospital-based practice is at the very hospital where he was born. He has held numerous leadership roles there, including service on the Board of Directors, President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Staff, and Chair of Internal Medicine.
In addition to his medical career, Robin has a long history of political involvement. He first served locally as a precinct chair while still in medical residency and has since been an election judge, city chair, and executive committee member of the Republican Party of Texas (SREC), where he also served as Vice Chair. In June 2012, he was elected to the Republican National Committee (RNC) as Texas’ National Committeeman, a position he holds today, also serving as Vice Chair of the Southern Region, a member of the Rules Committee, and on the RNC’s Faith Advisory Board. He was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Finance Commission of Texas on April 2, 2019, where he helped oversee regulation of the state’s banking and savings and loan industries.
Robin has frequently appeared in media, including television interviews on One America News Network, NEWSMAX, and Fox News’ Laura Ingraham Show, as well as radio programs across the United States in major markets like Houston, New York City, and Las Vegas. He has appeared on podcasts such as the Glenn Beck Program and the Ron Paul Podcast. Robin has also been featured in national publications such as Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, and USA Today. His successful treatment of 38 COVID-19 patients at one of his nursing facilities received national attention. Robin has also participated in healthcare panels at the White House, including one attended by President Donald Trump, and recently joined President Trump for the “Transition to Greatness” panel.
